It was great to see all Terrapins (8 & Under through 15 & Over) enjoying themselves together at this year’s 2019 Zone II Championship Meet held at the Soda Aquatic Center in Moraga.  The team had 80 swimmers participating in the meet all together as one strong squad.  The Senior Group swimmers made goodie bags and special notes to hand out to all the age group swimmers at the meet, which helped bring an extra sense of comradery to the team and meet.  For the first time in many years the team had full relays at the meet, covering all genders and age groups, which was especially exciting and fun to watch.

Within all of the fun and excitement the Team ended up winning the meet with a total of 2627 Points overall.  As a whole the team rallied up 170 life time best swims which is very impressive give the early season timing of the meet.  Morgan Wendler won the 8 & Under Boys High Point Award, while many other swimmers finished in the top 10 of their age group in points standings.

This meet was also used as a qualification meet for swimmers from all the teams in Zone II to make it on the Zone II All Star Development Team which will compete against the other Zone Teams within Pacific Swimming at the 2019 All Star Development Meet on Sunday, March 3rd in Fremont.  The Terrapins had an amazing total of 11 swimmers qualify for the Zone II All Star Development Team.  Congratulations to the following swimmers that made the team in their respective age groups;

8 & Un Girls- Sophia Struempf and Claire Meissner

8 & Un Boys- Morgan Wendler, Giovanni Castenada, and Maxwell Goreshnik

9-10 Girls- Abby Keller

11-12 Girls- Elizabeth Joseph

11-12 Boys- Aden Li, Mason Wendler, and Diego Castenada

13-14 Girls- Diana Chan

The Coaches are very proud of all the Terrapins Swimmers at the meet.  GO TERRAPINS!!!
