The Terrapins High School swimmers had a great 3 week stretch of Championships Swimming. It started with over 40 swimmers competing at the various League Championship Meets around the Bay Area (Moraga, San Ramon, Brentwood, Napa, and Lodi) during the weekend of April 25th-April 27th. There were tons of personal best times and breakthrough performances. Some of the highlights included: Shawn Boland (200FR, best time + new FW cut), Lucy Carmichael (200FR/200IM, best times), Diego Castaneda (200FR, best time), Finn Cleary (500FR, best time), Brooke Koller (200IM, best time), Aden Li (100BR, best time), Bryce Mincy (200FR/500FR/100FR, best times), Mackenzie Mincy (200IM/100BR best times), Calvin Tam (100BR best time + new Sectional cut), Grant Whittlinger (500FR, best time), Maddie Bautista (50FR, best time + new Futures cut), Nick Cadero (100BK/50FR best times), Jacob Ceja (100BR, best time), Audrey Cleary (200FR/100BK, best times), Mady Cottam (500FR, best time), Ariel Fruge (100BK, best time), Rebecca Griffin (200/500FR, best times), Abby Ikeda (200IM, best time, 100BR best time + new Sectional cut), Abbey Keller (200IM, best time), Konstantin Kirasirov (500FR/100BK, best times), McKayla Mahoney (100FL, best time), Olive Pomp (100FL, best time), and Hillary Tam (100BR, best time).

From that weekend, we had over 25 swimmers achieve either individual North Coast Championship cuts or qualified to participate in relays. The following weekend we had the North Coast Section HS Championships at our home pool in Concord on May 3-4th. The first day was beautiful weather and once again we had even more best times. The second day was probably the worst weather in the history of NCS Finals but the kids were tough and swam their hearts out. Some of the highlights from NCS Champs: Bryce Mincy (100FR, best time + new Sectional cut), Lucy Carmichael (200FR, best time + new FW cut), Diego Castaneda (200IM, best time + winter JR cut/3rd place, 100BK best time/broke team record/1st place), Brooke Koller (100BR, best time + Top 16), Aden Li (100FL, best time/2nd place + 100BK, best time/3rd place), Calvin Tam (100BR, best time), Mason Wendler (200FR, 2nd place + 100FR best time/1st place), Maddie Bautista (50/100FR Top 16), Nick Cadero (100BK, Top 16), Addison Corso (100FR, best time), Ariel Fruge (100BK, best time), and Rebecca Griffin (200/500FR Top 16). To round out the weekend, we had a SR Meet on Sunday and it was short course in the morning and long course in the afternoon. There were several swimmers that were able to muster up more best times and new cuts after a grueling two weeks off emotion and competition. The highlights were: Donna Talmadge (100FR, best time), Mackenzie Mincy (200BR, best time + new FW cut), Finn Cleary (100BR best time, 200IM best time, 200BR best time + new Sectional cut), Bryce Mincy (200IM best time, 50 FR best time), Konstantin Kirasirov (200IM, best time), Mason Wendler (200IM best time + 100FL best time), Aden Li (200FL, best time), Abby Ikeda (100FR, best time), Brooke Koller (100FL, best time + new Sectional cut), Luciano Crews (100/200BR, best times),
Addison Faulkner (100FR, best time), Rebecca Griffin (100FL best time, 100FR best time + new Sectional cut), Grant Whittlinger (100FR, best time), and Shawn Boland (50/100FR, best times).

Finally, we had 3 swimmers (Diego Castaneda, Mason Wendler, Aden Li) qualify for individual events at the CIF State Championship in Clovis, CA on May 10-11th. The boys were extremely tough and swam incredible given this was there third championship meet in 3 consecutive weeks. The highlights were: Mason Wendler (200FR best time/5th, 100FR best time/4th), Diego Castaneda (200IM best time/8th, 100BK best time/4th), and Aden Li (100FL best time/13th.)
