The SR swimmers finished up their Fall Season with two championship meets back-to-back. The first of which was the Junior National Championships held at the University of Texas in Austin, TX December 7th-10th, 2022. This meet comprises of the top 18-unders in the United States. The Terrapins had Mason Wendler representing the team and he had a great meet competing in 7 events. Mason achieved 6 out of 7 best times and narrowly missed getting a second swim in the 500FR by .5 tenths of a second. The second meet was the CA/NV Sectional Championships held in La Mirada, CA December 16th-19th, 2022. The team sent 12 swimmers down to Southern CA and they compiled 17 personal best performances. Several swimmers made it back for a finals swim (Top 32). Diego Castaneda made it back in all 6 events he competed in with his highest finish in the 200BK (4th). The following swimmers also swam fast enough to get a second swim: Ryan Cesmat (100BK), Nicholas Woolery (500FR), Sophia Pedersoli (100BK), and Claudia Dumais (100FR). The coaches are proud of all the swimmers and all the hard work they put in and we are really looking forward to an AWESOME 2023!!
