The Terrapin age group team finished up the first phase, the fall season, of their 2022-2023 swim year with great performances at two end of season meets.

The first of the two meets was the “2022 14&Under Winter Age Group Championships” held in Santa Clara on December 2nd-4th.  The team of 34 Terrapin Swimmers aging between 9-14 years old scored 668.5 points resulting in a outstanding 5th place team finish out of the overall 65 teams participating in the meet.  The team had an amazing, combined total of 114 lifetime best time swims equating to a 95% best time average and had 74 total top ten finishes in finals.  The team also had multiple swimmers finishing ranked in the top ten for individual high-point for their age group as follows; Grace Willis (10&un) 6th place, Marina Didenko (11) 1st place high-point winner, Kaitlyn Whittlinger (11) 8th place, Fedor Igoshin (11) 2nd place, Claire Meissner (12) 4th place, Giovanni Castaneda (12) 4th place, and Morgan Wendler (12) who was just coming off being sick for 2 weeks had a 5th place finish.  Overall, it was an outstanding by the entire group of swimmers at the meet.  The coaches were especially proud of the team’s amazing team spirit and comradery that the swimmers showed throughout the meet.

The second of the two meets was the “SRVA c/b/bb+ Meet” in San Ramon on December 11th-12th.  This was a championship focus meet for all swimmers that did not participate in the Winter AG Champs Meet, as well as some of the swimmers from the Winter AG Champs meet that wanted to compete in a few events that they were not able to swim at that meet to end the season with.  This was another outstanding meet for all the swimmers that participated.  Despite the very cold and rainy weather the swimmers were resilient and strong, the team of 38 swimmers in the meet were still able to rack up a total of 100 total best times, an outstanding performance by all.  Again, at this meet the true highlight of the meet for the coaches was the amazing team spirit and comradery the swimmers showed throughout the meet.

Between the two meets combined the swimmers achieved an unbelievable 75% lifetime best times to end their season with!  GO TERRAPINS!!
