The Terrapins had 17 swimmers travel to Tempe, AZ for the 2021 Holiday Festival Meet held at the Arizona State University Swim Complex from December 2-5th. The team racked up 45 best times collectively and had several swimmers make the Top 24 for a finals appearance. Leading the way was 15 year old Mason Wendler who went Top 8 in 100 Fly and 200IM, Top 16 in 100FR/200FR/200FL/200BK/400IM, and Top 24 in the 100BK.

Several other swimmers made the Top 24 and all who achieved best times are listed below:

Danica Adams (Top 8 100BK/200BK, 1 Best Time), Diego Castaneda (Top 8 200BK, Top 16 100BK/100FL/400IM, 3 Best Times), Christian Ceja (3 Best Times), Ryan Cesmat (Top 16 100BK, Top 24 50FR/100FL, 6 Best Times), Kaya Andresen (1 Best Time), Gisele Almarinez (2 Best Times), Mikaela de Vera-Gomez (Top 24 100FL), Claudia Dumais (2 Best Times), Elizabeth Joseph (Top 8 200BR/200IM, Top 16 100BR, 2 Best Times), Daniel Lewis (6 Best Times), Sophia Pedersoli (Top 16 200FR/100FL, Top 24 50FR/100FR/100BK, 2 Best Times), Caroline Rardin (2 Best Times), Sophia Roth (4 Best Times), and Haylee Wong (Top 8 100BR/200BR, 3 Best Times).

It was a great weekend of racing for the group and the coaches are very proud of them for all their hard work and dedication this Fall. The next big competition will be in February 2022 when the team travels to AZ again for the Winter Phoenix Invitational.
