The Terrapins Swim Team sent 9 Senior Group swimmers to compete in the Juanita Allington SR Trials and Finals Championships down in Fresno, California on March 6th-9th, 2020. The team did not disappoint and had an incredible weekend of competition. The small crew garnered a total of 28 best times collectively.
Senior Adrian Dulay was stellar while winning 4 events (100BR, 200BR, 100FL, 200IM) and he was second in the 200 FL. Adrian’s highlight swim was a new Senior National/US Open cut in the 200BR with a blistering time of 1:59.58! Senior Weylin Foo was also impressive with a win in the 200FL and 2nd place in the 100Br and 200BR (new Junior National cut). Leading the way for the ladies were Maile Andresen (1st in 100FR, 2nd in 50FR, 2nd in 100BK, 3rd in 200FR) and Gigi Baldacci (1st in 100BR, 2nd in 200BR with a new JR National cut, 8th in the 100FR, and 8th in the 50FR.) In addition, the following swimmers made Top 8 Finals or Top 16 Finals and smashed their best times: Zion Fruge (100FL, 200FL, 50FR, 200FR), Jayme Davis (50FR, 100FR, 200FR, 500FR, 100BR, 200IM), Mikaela Devera-Gomez (50FR, 100FR, 200FR, 100FL-2nd, 200IM), Devin Masongsong (50FR, 100FR, 200FR, 100FL, 200FL, 100BK, 200IM), and Will Birdsong (100FR-1st, 200FR, 100BK, 200Bk3rd.) Once again, it was a great weekend for the team and the coaching staff is very proud of the swimmers efforts and team sportsmanship.
