Terrapins place 10th overall and 7th in men’s division at USA Junior Nationals

The Terrapin Junior National swimmers had a great meet in East Meadow , NY at the USA Junior National Championships. With only 5 swimmers competing, the team placed 10th in the combined scores out of over 300 teams and placed 7th in the men’s scoring division. The Terrapins were the highest ranking team out of Pacific Swimming, placing ahead of CROW, PLS, SCSC,OAPB and other top Pacific teams.

Leading the group was Alexei Sancov who placed first in the 100FR and tied for first in the 100FLY. He also scored top 8 in the 200IM. Helping with the combined team score was 16 year old Emily Lo who placed 8th in the 200BRST final and scored in the consolation finals in the 100BR.

The team was also strengthened by some top men’s relays at the meet. The quartet of Alexei Sancov, Will Nagle, Andrew Rodriguez and Nate Barsanti placed 3rd in the men’s 800 Free Relay and 7th in the 400 Free Relay. The 400Medley relay team of Gennady Sytnik, Alexei Sancov, Andrew Rodriguez and Nate Barsanti placed 14th overall.
