Terrapins 10-under Girls lead team to 3rd place finish at the Phoenix Winter Invite

A strong contingent of TERA 10-under girls led the team to a 3rd place finish at the recent Phoenix Winter Invite hosted by the Phoenix Swim Club. The TERA 10-under girls recorded a combined 33 life best swims and won both the 10-under relays. The girls were led by Lily Struempf won the 10-under girls High Point award by winning 7 events. Also contributing life best swims were: Kaya Andresen(9) – 9 BT’s, Amelia Bodenstab(10) – 7 BT’s, Saylor Carkhuff(10) – 3 BT’s, Addison Faulkner(9) – 3 BT’s, Elizabeth Joseph(9) – 2 BT’s, Nikki Kannan(10) – 2 BT and Sophia Struempf(6) – 6 BT’s.

The team also had High Point winners in the 13-14 and 15-18 age groups. Garrick Coloma won the 13-14 boys high point by winning the 500fr and placing top 3 in 6 other events, Alexei Sancov won the 15-18 High Point by winning 5 events and posting some fast unrested swims of 1:47.1 200fly, 1:51.1 200IM and 1:36.7 200fr.

Five or more life best swims were also swum by Tanner Skrypnyk(11) -10 BT’s, Tyler Bodenstab(12) – 8 BT’s,  Sophie Broad(13) – 6 BT’s, Zack Chau(12) – 6 BT’s, Sophie Curran(11) – 6 BT’s, Matthew Diaz-Martin(12) – 10 BT’s, Logan Faulkner(13) – 7 BT’s, AJ Fong(12) – 5 BT’s and 1st place in 500free, Christonio Guerrera(14) – 7 BT’s,  Sophia Pedersoli(12) – 6 BT’ and  Vlad Ponomorenko(12) – 6 BT’s, Maile Andresen (13) – 5 BT’s, Ryan Wold (14) – 6 BT’s
